2023/2024 Applications for the BREAKING NEWS: NSFAS Deadline Extended By Two Weeks Applications are Open 2023/2024
Important news just in from NSFAS. There was to be a very early close to funding applications this year with the 7th of January as the last day for funding.
It has been announced in a statement released late on Thursday night that there is a two-week extension to help anyone still struggling to finalise their funding applications.
The closing date for applications for NSFAS funding has now been extended by two weeks to the 21st of January 2023/2024. This is for funding to study this year at a public university or TVET College.
In their statement announcing the extension, NSFAS also shared the news that more than 600,000 applications for funding have been received since the applications opened on the 2nd November 2023/2024. Of these applications at least 505,000 are first time applications.
They explained that for this year’s applications NSFAS improved their application process so that first-time applicants who are SASSA beneficiaries could receive an immediate response after submitting their application.
They announced that so far 182,567 applicants were told straight away that their study funding has been confirmed.
The second group is non-SASSA applicants who receive their responses once their income verification has been concluded.
NSFAS urged applicants to get all the details in on time as they said there would be no further extensions after the 21st of January.
