The City of Joburg (CoJ) invites unemployed graduates to apply for 18 months Finance and Transport Internship Programme 2024 / 2025.

Internship Application Closing Date: 04 October 2024

Internship Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering student internship opportunities under Circular 021/2024 for eligible students residing in Johannesburg. These internships are available in the Transport Department and are part of the City’s efforts to provide work-based training to help students gain the necessary practical experience for their qualifications. These internships are available for a period not exceeding 18 months, with two specific internship designations: Revenue and Transport Transformation.

Internship: Revenue (Finance Branch)

  • Location: Old Mutual Building, 75 Helen Joseph Street
  • Remuneration:
  • R9,531.54 per month for those with a qualification of at least 360 credits.
  • R3,500.00 per month for students currently enrolled.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (NQF level 4) with a Diploma in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent qualification (NQF level 6).
  • Only residents of the City of Johannesburg.

Core Competencies:

  • Knowledge of GRAP standards and MFMA regulations.
  • Analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Internship: Transport Transformation (Transport Branch)

  • Location: Old Mutual Building, 75 Helen Joseph Street
  • Remuneration:
  • R9,531.54 per month for those with a qualification of at least 360 credits.
  • R3,500.00 per month for students currently enrolled.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (NQF level 4) with a Diploma in Administration Management or Transport Management (NQF level 6) or studying towards a Diploma in Transport Engineering.
  • Only residents of the City of Johannesburg.

Core Competencies:

  • Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of customer service and problem-solving.
