2022 Applications for the Gauteng Opens Late Applications for Grade 1 & Grade 8Applications are Open 2022
The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) has announced in a media statement that it will open late applications for Grade 1 and Grade 8 online school admission from today.
While the late registrations process gets underway, the Department has called on parents and Guardians to login and apply on its GDE admissions website: www.gdeadmissions.gov.za
Grade 8 applicants are required to provide the following supporting documents when submitting their applications:
- The parent’s or Child’s I.D or Passport
- Refugee Permit
- Asylum Seeker Permit
- Permanent Residence Permit
- Study Permit
- Your South African birth certificate
- Proof of home address
- Latest School Report
For Grade 1 applicants these are the required supporting documents:
- The parent’s or Child’s I.D or Passport
- Refugee Permit
- Asylum Seeker Permit
- Permanent Residence Permit
- Study Permit
- Your South African birth certificate
- Proof of home address
- Proof of work address
- Latest School Report
- Clinic card/Vaccination report
To date, the provincial Education Department has placed more than 276 000 Grade 1 and 8 online admission applicants in schools. However, nearly 1 500 applicants are yet to be placed.
In addition to this, more than 17 000 applications have not been processed because parents failed to submit some of the required supporting documents.
