The bursary scheme has called on prospective students as well as those looking to kick start their higher education careers to submit their applications as soon as possible. Here’s how you can do it.
How to apply for NSFAS

- Click on the ‘Apply’ tab to update your personal information
- Upload your application supporting documents
- Submit your application
When submitting your NSFAS application ensure that you have the following support documents:
- A copy of ID. A temporary ID issued by the Department of Home Affairs will be accepted
- Non-Sassa applicants must provide ID copies of parent/s, legal guardian/guardian or spouse
- Smart ID cards: a copy with both sides of the smart ID must be provided
- Proof of income: applicant and/or parents/legal guardian/spouse (where applicable (non-SASSA) should provide the latest payslip, not older than 3 months, UIF letter, appointment letter, retrenchment letter (applicant and/or parent(s), legal guardian/spouse)

Alternatively, you can also submit your NSFAS funding application at one of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) centres across the country.
