2022 Applications for the What To Do About ‘Alternative Income Source’ SRD Status Applications are Open 2022
If you have applied for the Special Covid-19 R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant from the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) then you are urged to check your application status to see if you have been approved for this grant.
Applications for the R350 grant are open and will close March 2022.
If you have checked your status and it states that your application was declined due to an “Alternative Income Source Indentified” then this means that you do not qualify for the SRD grant because you are receiving an income of more than R595 per month.
Sassa will have detected that you have been receiving more than R595 per month into your bank account.
So what can you do about this?
If you feel like Sassa has made a mistake then you can submit a R350 grant appeal. You have 30 days after being given this reason to do so.
How to Appeal for SASSA Relief Grant Online
- Go to the SRD Grant website
- Scroll down to ‘Application for reconsideration’
- Click on the yellow bar
- Fill in the required fields
When submitting this appeal you will have to provide reasons as to why you believe you were declined on an unfair basis. Once you submit an appeal, SASSA will then consider your application again.
