Homeschooling teachers have raised their eyebrows to the Basic Education Law Amendments Bill as it’ll undo years of advances in home education, said Cape Home Educators chair Anelle Burger.

The BELA Bill had been referred to the Portfolio Committee on Basic Education last year already.

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) says that the bill will result in major changes to the laws governing schooling and it will set the legal framework for education for the next ten or even twenty years.
