Are you wanting to study at a university or TVET college? Then it might be beneficial for you to sign up for the Central Application Clearing House (CACH) system, which is a government online system aimed at helping you gain access to university or TVET colleges as well as other related opportunities. Here is what you need to know about it.

The Department of Higher Education has announced that the Central Application Clearing House (CACH) system is now open for 2022 applications. Here are some details about how it works and how students can use it to their advantage.

The CACH system is an online service provided by the government that was designed and introduced by the Department of Higher Education to help those who would like to access university, college and skills development.

For those looking to further their studies at university or college, the online system is said to be more advantageous for prospective students who submitted their University or College study applications during 2022 but have not been offered a place for their chosen course.

CACH will refer these individuals to career development services and also approach universities and TVET colleges to provide available spaces where possible. The online system also makes it more convenient for individuals to access any SETA learnership without having to travel to higher learning institutions.

The system also serves to ensure that students do not fall prey to fake higher learning institutions. Those who sign up will be required to provide details, which include their chosen study programme, as well as accept and reject offers on the CACH system.

Post-School Education and Training will only be able to access this information after individuals have signed up and had their Grade 12 results matched.

Applicants can sign up to the CACH system through their WhatsApp Chatbot (078 776 8660), USSD (*134*225#) or sign-up online atĀ http://cach.ac.za.

Applicants can also find out more information about CACH on the official Facebook page, which is CACH_SA. The Higher Education Department has also stated the information will be treated with absolute confidentiality.
